Film

I really do love shooting on film.  It's how I first learned how to take photos and there is something organic and alive about film shots.  The cost of shooting film, however, keeps me from doing it as much as I would like.  I did finish off a roll of film that I'd had in my camera for a little while recently.  This roll included some portraits, some cityscapes of Charlotte, NC, and a few wedding photos.  Can't wait to finish off my next roll.

The Beach.  So many of us love to go there.  For years, my family and I have loved vacationing at the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  We have always found it to be a relaxing and beautiful place.  It's not built up and touristy like so many other places.  We, like many others, were devastated when NC passed their discriminatory "bathroom bill" earlier this year.  We had not planned on going to NC for our vacation this year until my brother rented a house for my entire family to vacation there, and so we went.

We hope that the government of North Carolina comes to its senses soon, because we'd love to go back.  In the meantime, here is my final set of images from the OBX of NC until the law is gone, we choose as a family, to not give the government of NC any of our money.

If any prints sell, I plan to make a donation to organizations in NC that are helping to combat the legislation.

Gloria and James Engagement session

This past school year, I worked on a photography project where I was taking photos around school each day.  Glora, who is a World Language teacher at my high school, saw my photos and asked me to shoot her engagement session and wedding.  I had a lot of fun shooting this engagement session last week and am really looking forward to shooting their wedding this coming August.
